Location

Manyara Ranch Conservancy is situated One hour’s drive from Arusha airport found in the town of Arusha, however the main airport is Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO).Tarangire National Park is only 30 minute drive from this luxury tented camp located within Manyara Ranch Conservancy, and then Lake Manyara National Park is just 50 minutes drive from the camp. The renowned Ngorongoro Crater is one and a half hours drive from the camp and the Lake Manyara airstrip is 50 minute drive away. This Manyara Tented Camp is found 6 km inwards from the main turn to the Ranch.

Lake Manyara National Park

Although this is among the smallest game parks in the whole of Tanzania, it prides in a outstanding variety of landscapes, flora and fauna. The park is protected by the Rift Valley escarpment and it covers an area of 325 sq. kms; this park is dominated with green vegetation. This Lake Manyara was mainly set up to guard the elephant populations for which this park is internationally popular. The park provides an exceptionally varied wildlife experience that is well worth experiencing. The various types of habitats coupled with the rich biodiversity, are all swarmed into a fairly small area that this National Park covers.

 

Besides the several elephants found here, Lake Manyara is also well known for its resident population of tree-climbing lions, in addition to the  thousands of pink flamingos that ate commonly  seen around the shores of the lake. There are large herds of buffaloes, impalas, cheetahs, Maasai giraffes plus hippos seen within the park. Lake Manyara which covers the biggest part of the park is credited for the continued survival of different species of birds, mainly the migrant species and water fowl.
