The camp is set in a rich wild savannah bush location with an altitude of 1,075 metres above sea level. It backs onto the Losimingorti mountain range acting as a natural wildlife corridor from the Ngorongoro highlands through to Manyara conservancy and on into Tarangire National Park. Isoitok Camp Manyara offers a little more than just a place to put your head after a busy day of game drives and we do urge you to slow down as to fully appreciate the essence and importance of time relaxing and soaking in the African bush and her sounds with a few nights under canvas with us at Isoitok Camp Manyara. Time is completely on your side to forget work and recharge your internal batteries so you can actually leave Tanzania not needing another holiday once you get home. We do not offer 5 star services or an endless swimming pool but we do offer a grass root cultural experience and a true look behind the scenes into Maasai culture.

Maasai medicine walk

These are normally organized early in the morning along the gentle slopes behind this camp. Discover the various root & plant extracts that are being used up to date by the Maasai on a regular basis. The walks range from 30 minutes to one and a half hours based on your physical fitness.

Maasai boma visit

Experience the daily life of the Maasai on a visit to one of their traditional boma or dwelling. Check out ‘behind the scenes’ and personally witness the thrilling day to day lifestyle of these nomadic people. Meet the children, Elders as well as the Maasai women and get the complete explanations about the status and tribal ranking in the family age brackets.

Traditional goat sacrifice

Observe the goat sacrifice traditional in the Korongo close to the camp. The camp’s Maasai employees will disclose their butchery skills and reveal the significance of this practice that has passed down from several generations. Afterwards you will have a traditional goat BBQ in addition to a Swahili buffet.

Viewpoint walks with bush refreshments
